Oʻahu
Oʻahu: An Island, A Thousand Stories
Every visit, a new chapter.
Every Visit, a New Chapter
Perhaps your first chapter begins with Waikīkī: an ocean-view room, your first surf lesson, and the delicious feeling of having a whole vacation ahead of you.
Another might begin with children waking up far too early, excited for a day at Aulani. Or with a tee time, a honeymoon, a winter escape. Perhaps a conference brings you here, and you find yourself wishing you had added a few more days.
There are many reasons to come to Oʻahu — and just as many reasons to return.
The island you discover as a couple may feel different when you bring your children. A trip filled with sightseeing might lead to another devoted to food, golf, or a favorite beach. Over time, familiar places become part of your own story, while others are still waiting to be found.

A Note from Kailua
I live on the windward coast, in Kailua — a beach town on the green side of the island, about 30 minutes from Honolulu. It's a place I love sharing with visitors who are curious about what life here actually looks like.
Those small discoveries — a good bakery, a quiet beach, a restaurant worth the drive — are part of what I bring to planning your trip.
Discover Your Oʻahu
Choose a place to settle in, an area to explore, or a little of both. Each side of the island brings a different rhythm to your trip.
How Long to Stay
Five to seven nights is the right length for a first visit — enough time to see Honolulu properly, make it to the North Shore, and spend a day on the windward coast without feeling rushed. A week goes quickly on Oʻahu.
Oʻahu pairs beautifully with Lānaʻi — a few nights on the most private island in Hawaiʻi makes a wonderful contrast to the energy of Honolulu. I often recommend this combination for couples or honeymoons.
